Kaepernick, Eric Reid settle collusion grievances with NFL

SANTA CLARA, CA – OCTOBER 23: Eric Reid #35 and Colin Kaepernick #7 of the San Francisco 49ers kneel in protest during the national anthem prior to their NFL game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Levi’s Stadium on October 23, 2016 in Santa Clara, California. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)

Deal?  $60-80 million. We remain suspicious. The NFL is a business and by settling with Reed and Kaepernick they, the league, can walk away free from having to disclose “collusion” by blocking the quarterback from earning a living.

No athlete, not even an athlete of color, should be deprived from earning a living. The Muhammad Ali Supreme Court victory in 1971 is a case in point.

The supporters of the “take a knee” social protest movement are left without closure.
